The Cambridge Satchel Company bags are absolutely everywhere. Alexa Chung has one, Rita Ora loves hers and, last Fashion Week, every style pundit in London had one slung over their shoulder.

So popular is the humble Cambridge-based company that its owners have decided to spread their wings and open their first bricks and mortar shop, in London’s Covent Garden.

The store, which will launch during February’s London Fashion Week, will be a one-stop shop for all those who want to browse the entire Cambridge Satchel Company range, from the classics to and printed style. It will host a series of special events and offer a membership package and Bloggers Lounge for the online community who have helped make it the go-to accessory company it is today.

The opening marks the end of an amazing year for the company, who not only won several industry awards and enjoyed a reported 400 per cent sales increase, but featured in Google Chrome’s The Web Is What You Make Of It campaign, starring an email from ELLE’s very own accessories editor, .

But February? Too long to wait! Never fear. For all those wanting to get their fix now, there will be a pop-up shop opening at the end of this week.

In the front section of what is to be the permanent store, there will be a pop-up ‘teaser’ shop opening on 8 December for two months, where you can buy the UK handmade 100% leather bags, including seasonal specials for the festive period. So don’t worry - that’s Christmas shopping sorted.
