We've already extolled the virtues of the Fashion Cat Lady, and yes, Taylor Swift played a big part in our research on that topic. So why not go all out and round up the coolest cat breeds according to the choices of some of our favourite celebrities?Starting with Taylor, and her (now famous) cat Meredith, who is a...
Scottish Fold
Owned by, Taylor Swift, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Dempsey, and Mia Farrow
Some facts:
Scottish Fold are all born with straight ears, but then they turn into a folding ear type, or a straight ear type - which seems kind of pointless
They are easy-going, low maintenence and very affectionate, with little voices and a lazy outlook.
Scottish Fold cats love to sit like this, which frankly is good enough reason to own one in itself.
Cornish Rex
Owned by Lena Dunham, Marilyn Manson, Dita Von Teese and me, Beauty Director Sophie Beresiner
Some facts:
The tight, curly coat feels like very very soft silk, and it curls because there is no 'guard' hair in the undercoat, which makes them non-waterproof
They are quite dog like in their activity levels and their attachment to humans. They can meow very loudly too, and demand company at all times.
Sphynx
Owned by Demi Lovato, Dr. Evil, Steven Tyler and Lady Gaga
Some facts:
Sphynx cats are usually hairless, and their skin feels like a cross between velvet and shammi leather
They need to be bathed to clean the skin of natural oils which would normally be absorbed by the hairs
They are so keen to meet and be loved by people they're often used as 'therapy cats'. Lucky Demi. They need company, so two is better than one.
Siamese
Owned by K$sha, Marilyn Monroe, Rod Steward, and Ricky Gervais
Some facts:
Siamese cats are (loud) talkers. They will engage in back and forth conversations with you but you'll have no clue what it's about
They don't mind being walked on a lead, which is bound to attract all sorts of attention, which they also happen to like. In any form
Siamese are incredibly sociable and love the company of cats, dogs, babies, birds, anything that will engage in conversation
Exotic Shorthair
Owned by people who are totally overshadowed by the level of fame of the cats themselves
Some facts:
The most famous and popular cats on Instagram are arguably the Exotic Shorthair. You know Snoopybabe, who is a sensation in China? Or Lil Bub? Or the cute kitten in the little girls bicycle basket in that phone ad? All Exotics
Also known as 'Lazy Man's Persian, or 'Persian in a Petticoat'
They like to lie around alot, maybe tap a ball of string for a few seconds before lying around again. The couch potato of cats
